Opt Out of the Health and Dental Plans!

If you have secondary health coverage above and beyond the provincial standard health insurance, you don't need the King's Students' Union's health and dental plans! Save yourself that $100 or so by following these step-by-step instructions before the NO-EXCEPTION OPT-OUT DEADLINE OF SEPTEMBER 24th, 2010.

 

1. Log in to your Dal Online account at
https://dalonline.dal.ca/PROD/twbkwbis.P_WWWLogin
.
2. Select 'Web for Students'.
3. Select 'Opt In/Opt Out' from the list of options. It should be near the bottom.
4. Choose the Fall Term.

5. Enter required information. In order to Opt Out you must have alternative secondary health coverage.
6. Once you submit your information, your Opt Out becomes sent and pending review. This can take up to 48 hours depending on traffic.
7. You will receive one of three status confirmations:

a) Accepted means you are officially opted out!
b) Declined means your Opt-Out has been declined, most likely because
you did not provide valid alternative coverage;

c) You may receive a second Pending notification, which will ask for
additional information to confirm your alternative coverage.

King's Frosh Week 2010!

Venue: All over King's!
City: Halifax
Starting: Tuesday, August 31, 2010 (6:00 pm)

Cost: $50 early/$60 on Sept 4

For a weeklong period, from September 4th to September 11th, the King's Students' Union and the University of King's College welcomes 400 new first year students and orients them to a new city, a new lifestyle, and a new school! Through events, from wild neon dance parties to hip hop shows, from frank talks about sex to giving back to the Halifax community at large, King's Frosh Week 2010 guarantees that it will follow in a rich tradition of being a week to remember.

Ecology Action Centre Internships

KSU partner, The Ecology Action Centre is currently offering Internships to anyone interested in working as a research assistant on a project measuring the environmental impact of
importing goods and food to Nova Scotia. The position would require a time commitment of about 2 hrs./week, no experience is necessary and all students - particularly those in sustainability or environmental sciences - are encouraged to apply.
